Been lurking and reading for quite some time, but haven't yet pulled the trigger to purchase a EVO yet. Hopefully i'm not beating a dead horse here, but I got a few questions.

9 tooth vs. 10 tooth

I know the different models that the EVO provide, but what I really wanted to know is which one is the better car as far as handling, performance, mod easy, reliable, etc Re: EVO 9 or 10??? As many will tell you both cars have their advantages. I believe the 9 has slightly better straight line performance and the 10 having slightly better handling capabilities. As for modding them i think it would be a lot cheaper to mod the 9 seeing as how so many members give such great deals on used and sometimes new parts in the classified section.

But in the end it all comes down to what you think is the best car for you. As for the M3 they are beautiful cars but you better have deep pockets if you plan on modding them as i know from experience Dinan is not cheap. Goodluck on making your decision. All evos are reliable I have my Honda to commute to work so, I will be using the car primarily as a pleasure DD around town.

Occasionaly a track car as well or blasting through empty curvy mountain highway.

    This is what I think The IX is hardcore. The RS is nuts. The MR is not worth it. Not comfy, but who will buy an Evo for comfort?

    Cheaper mods, more history; proven. Just keep up the maintenance. The X is timid with a bland personality of comfort and performance. The X SSL is a deal if you can find a used one. It's supposed to handle better than the IX, but lap records on stock vs stock don't prove that.
