I actually recently showed this movie in a college class I taught on Frankenstein, and while the young adult males thought it was hilarious, I and the young women in the class squirmed a lot.
As several people have mentioned, there's a sex scene that "starts out" non-consensual--so, yeah, there's the message that no means yes. It's also full of puerile humor about breasts and penises hence the guffaws from the guys in my class. I watched this years ago and remembered that I thought it was funny, but this time around I thought it was clunky and the jokes were overdone.

I was just plain bored. Aquarius99 Adult. Although there are a fair amount of sexual innuendo's and some other questionable sections of the movie, I first watched this movie when I was younger and I personally never understood what some of the innuendo's meant. Most kids will so entranced in the small bits of comedy such as Frau Blüchers name, which means horse glue and Marty Feldman's character, Igor.
I think it is best for children 13 and up to watch this movie because when kids get to that age, they'll begin to understand what some of the terms mean, but they're not too young to where you'll be ruining their innocence. Young Frankenstein is one of the funniest movies ever, and beneath all the sometimes tasteless laughs there's a lot of heart. Gene Wilder described it as being about "misfits in search of perfect love," and it can be really heartwarming to see the monster saved by love. And yet Yeah, as in nonconsensual sex, except that the woman enjoys it because the monster is so The way they do the scene, it's hysterically funny, and you don't tend to think of it as rape, but if you're showing this to a boy, you'd better be prepared to have a Big Discussion about how going ahead when the woman says "no" is NEVER all right, no matter how much you actually love her or need to be loved or think she needs love.
So this movie has big good messages everybody needs love and also some really cringe-worthy stuff, and some messages we can do without. This title has: Great messages Too much sex. Young Frankenstein is a hilarious parody of monster movies. Young kids who are fascinated with monsters can see this without being scared. But this is also a perfect example of a kind of movie that has sort of a lower and upper age bracket.
The sex innuendos will go so far over the heads of the youngest kids , parents won't even need to explain. They're just having fun rolling in the hay. But at a certain age they may be more curious, and at that age say maybe it's best to avoid this.

I recently took my four year old to a stage production of Grease, and felt the same way. BestPicture Adult. My high school's putting on the musical version of Brooks' very clever homage to the Karloff horror films of yore, and you can certainly tell he did it with a big dollop of love! Wilder is superb in the lead, tuning down his manic persona in "Producers" just a bit to portray this mad genius.
